Welcome!
Sacred Heart Academy:
Grand Rapids’ Only Catholic K-12 Option
Sacred Heart Academy is the only K-12 Diocesan school in all of Kent County, and it is one of only three K-12 options in the whole Diocese of Grand Rapids! Having students from pre-school all the way through 12th grade in one building provides a unique opportunity for academic, social, and moral development.
Academic: Our K-12 model enables us to provide a curriculum that beautifully builds upon itself, creating an integrated and cohesive formational experience.
Social: Students ranging from ages 3 to 18 growing in relationship and learning alongside and from each other is a beautiful opportunity to encourage social development in a unique, intergenerational way. It is the best way for students to acquire experience and wisdom about what it means to be in community.
Moral: The purity and joy of the younger students, the growing spiritual maturity of our older students, the act of praying together each and every day, inspires growth in virtue in a special way through mutual moral enrichment, mentorship, and humble admiration of the other.

Our Commitment to your Child's Education
We understand that intentionally forming your children in Christ can be challenging and costly. But in keeping with our mission to assist families in this holy vocation, we do all we can to help make that education affordable.
As we strive to serve families and cultivate culture through our work at Sacred Heart Academy, we are faced with the fact that many who desire to be part of SHA, or truly need this apostolate in their lives, are unable to afford it. Jesus commanded His followers to bring the children to Him. He did not qualify that command with “only those who can afford it.” We are committed to making Sacred Heart Academy accessible to all who desire it for their children.
One major way we have long expressed this commitment to serving families is a scholarship program called Patronis Cordis, “Patrons of the Heart,” dedicated to supporting tuition assistance for our community. As parents are the primary educators of their children, the Academy must become an extension of the home– hence the first objective of our mission, “to assist families.” Each academic year, we strive to provide our families a combined $650,000 in aid.
