Ella Summers

St. John Henry Newman Institute Mission & Culture Fellow

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” – St. Mother Teresa

Mrs. Summers was born and raised in Grand Rapids, and is a Sacred Heart Academy alumna!  While she grew up Episcopalian, she credits her conversion to Catholicism to her education at SHA. Mrs. Summers graduated from Ave Maria University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, accompanied by a double minor in Marriage & Family Studies and Catechetics. Mrs. Summers has served as a Catechist at Ave Maria Parish for the past three years, and will be joining our faculty as a St. John Henry Newman Institute Mission & Culture Fellow, primarily assisting in the Upper School. Mrs. Summers met her husband at Ave Maria University, and the two married in January 2025! They  have two small dogs, Beau and Belle. In her free time, Mrs. Summers enjoys taking walks, going on bike rides, or going to the gym with her husband. She also enjoys reading, doing puzzles, and hosting board game nights with friends. Her favorite author is C.S. Lewis, and she particularly loves his sermon, “The Weight of Glory,” as well as the conclusion to the Chronicles of Narnia, The Last Battle.
