Kristi Henderson
Art Teacher

Mrs. Henderson grew up in Byron Center, MI, and attended St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic elementary school, a school her family has attended for generations. She has studied dance since the age of three, and had the opportunity to perform in major productions with Grand Rapids Ballet from the age of nine through her high school years. She went on to teach at the Grand Rapids Ballet Company starting in high school through her time in college, as well as post college graduation. Mrs. Henderson attended Western Michigan University for Musical Theater with a minor in Dance. She then went on to Grand Valley University for Photography, and additionally graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Photography. During her studies, she interned as a Photojournalist at Jacob’s Pillow, a world renowned Dance Festival in Becket, MA, which resulted in the publication of her work in the New York Times, News Times, Boston Globe, and Dance Magazine blog. Before joining the faculty at Sacred Heart Academy, Mrs. Henderson’s teaching experience included her 10 years as a Ballet Teacher at Grand Rapids Ballet Company, as well as her role as a substitute teacher’s aide at St. Robert Catholic School. She has also worked as a professional photographer for 13 years. Mrs. Henderson is devoted to her Catholic faith, and is a mother to three sweet girls. She loves spending time with her family, living in the country, gardening and being in nature, especially by the water. She is passionate about studying both Art and Science.
