Maria Forrester
6th Grade
“Out of shadows and images and into truth.” – St. John Henry Newman
Having attended Sacred Heart Academy from sixth through twelfth grade, Miss Forrester is deeply invested in giving back to the very community that helped instill in her a lifelong love for learning! Miss Forrester received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Classics & Early Christian Literature and Humanities & Liberal Studies as well as a minor in Communications from Ave Maria University, and is completing her Master of Arts degree in Catholic Studies from the University of St. Thomas this year. Prior to joining the faculty of Sacred Heart Academy, Miss Forrester taught Latin at Rhodora J. Donahue Academy in Ave Maria, Florida. Upon her return to the Grand Rapids area, she assisted first, in the academy’s upper school as a St. John Henry Newman Insitute Fellow, and later, as the sixth grade full-time teacher. In her free time, Miss Forrester enjoys hiking, traveling, and reading C.S. Lewis, preferably with a cup of coffee in hand. Miss Forrester will be returning to Sacred Heart Academy after the conclusion of her one year apprenticeship program. She will be the sixth grade full-time homeroom teacher and will also be teaching one section of Latin for the full-time high school students.
