Joseph Hyland

Mr. Hyland was born and raised in suburban Chicago. His family moved up to Michigan from South Carolina seven years ago to be members of Sacred Heart parish and participate in the CEC program. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in History Education from Millikin University, IL, a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Franciscan University, OH, and he attended Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary and studied Philosophy & Theology (MD). He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in MI, SC and WY. Mr. Hyland taught and coached in four Catholic schools across three states over more than twenty years. He served as the Clinical Director for a licensed residential treatment facility for three years and continued to work, as needed, in a counseling fashion. He is married and he and his wife are raising their seven children. He enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music, watching movies and reading.
