Amy Den Braber
Director of the Office of Discernment and Formation
Mrs. DenBraber was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, attended St. Alphonsus Elementary School and West Catholic High School. She earned an Associates of Science at GRCC, and a Bachelors of Science from Western Michigan University (Chemistry major, Math minor). She also earned a Masters degree in Science Education from WMU. She began her career 34 years ago, teaching middle school math and high school Chemistry at Godwin Heights Public Schools. After three years, she taught Chemistry at GRCC for 8 years. She concurrently and subsequently homeschooled her five daughters for 8 years. Following homeschooling she began substitute teaching, then finally taught CEC Middle School Math and Chemistry at Sacred Heart Academy. Mrs. DenBraber transitioned from being assistant to the former Director to my position as current Director, and has begun her third year working full-time in this position. She has been married to her husband, David for 32 years. Together they’ve raised five daughters – now all adults, two who have attended SHA. She enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling to wherever her husband plans a trip. She also enjoys spending time with family.
